Following the resignation of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Joel Janorschke, the Cooperative Light & Power (CLP) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Carey Hogenson as Interim CEO. Carey is part of the CLP Senior Management team and currently serves as CLP’s Member Services and Human Resources Manager. She brings over 30 years of dedicated service to the cooperative and its members.
Throughout her career at CLP, Carey has held roles in member services, billing, collections, marketing, and human resources. Her extensive experience across departments gives her a comprehensive understanding of the cooperative’s operations and a strong connection to the needs of its members.
Carey is also known for her deep community involvement. She is the co-founder and annual organizer of the CLP Toy Drive and actively volunteers with numerous local organizations. She serves as President of the Lake County Humane Society, is a board member of the Salvation Army, leads the Red Kettle Bell Ringing campaign, and volunteers with Meals on Wheels. Additionally, she’s been a devoted team mom for several of her daughters’ sports teams.
A lifelong resident of Two Harbors, Carey and her husband, Rick, have three daughters: Marlee (18), Makena (18), and Raegan (16). Her strong local roots and deep commitment to community service reflect the cooperative values at the heart of CLP.
“As Interim CEO, I plan to focus on continuity and stability,” said Carey. “Joel has done an outstanding job in his tenure and is leaving CLP in a strong position. As interim CEO, I will continue to prioritize our mission of delivering safe, reliable, and affordable electricity to our members.”
